So I decided to play Total War again… | Kingdoms of the Void Ch. 1

Ok, so I’m playing Total War, right? This variant is called “Kingdoms of the Void.”

My House is one made up of by a bunch of genetically engineered super-soldiers, rules by the Petraxial Council, a group of 13 genetically engineered super-generals.

Now, see, there’s 14 different independent entities including myself in this, if you see the map. I’m House Transcendent, a group of transhumanists and geneticists. Anyway, I start by asking Sivvik(basically rich guys), if you look at the map, to help me invade House Jotenhel(space Vikings). Now, Jotenhel invites us both to a party and doesn’t see the message, so Sivvik kindly refuses and we both RSVP to the party.

Anyway, stuff starts going crazy on the other side of the map. After Ottenfels(techies) tries to impose an unequal treaty on Au’Nte(spies), they start mobilizing for war. Meanwhile, House Aitpur(arrogant sultan) denounces my House, as well as Grim’Nithar(mad scientists), Ottenfels, and Vaulxerr(Genetic fashionistas). They also alliance with House Nec Domi(subtle rich guys), who do similar.

I become friendly pen pals with Au’Nte, but I still want to do some conquering, but Jotenhel’s military is far too strong, so I could defeat them, but only at a considerable loss. Directly below me is House Makpal, a bunch of miners – but they’re complaining about how my house is warmongering, so alliance with House Dwet(knights).

I decide to pull a gamble: because of my government system, the Petraxial Council, I can sacrifice a single member of the Council to see if I can get a quick war in. I make sure all of my correspondence is written by X-Y-3, a councilor, who’s supposed to be ruthless and cautious. Now, I message House Martinelli(pirates) to assist in an invasion of House Makpal, and hint at something similar to House Grim’Nithar, so the Dwet won’t be too much of a problem.

And? My gambit succeeds – House Martinelli agrees to a mutual invasion, but also ask to first talk to House Adamant(not much, only allianced with Ottenfels). I agree, and Grim’Nithar doesn’t respond. But then, the situation escalates.

House Au’Nte, deciding that our ideologies no longer agree, and on the verge of war with Ottenfels, messages Nec Domi, Aitpur, Vaulxerr, Tyrun(happy scientists), Drantio(just neutral), Makpal, Adamant(not knowing about their alliance wit Ottenfels), and Dwet for an alliance.

Angry, I quickly send a new alliance proposal to Houses Grim’Nithar, Ottenfels, Adamant, Vaulxerr, Martinelli, Jotenhel, and Sivvik to gather a new alliance against the other one. I leave the proposal’s details public in case of others desiring to join, and also notify Nec Domi and Aitpur that Au’Nte has been asking Vaulxerr as well.

However, Au’Nte, being world class spies, intercepts my messages to Martinelli, and in an act of vengeance, tells Jotenhel about the early message to Sivvik.

And we’re going to have to end there for this week – People are choosing sides, and it will not be pretty.
